10:30 - 11:20 Karen Lascelle and Scott Eagan from Plodzik and Sanderson PA in Concord - “Current Fraud Case Studies.” An examination of a $350,000 non-profit payroll fraud scheme and a $110,000 school district employee embezzlement. Discussions will include how these frauds were perpetrated, concealed, detected, and investigated. Presentation will identify the internal control weaknesses that contributed to these occupational frauds and consider best practices that could help prevent similar frauds from occurring.
